Chicago Shakespeare Theater is a theatre located on
Navy Pier where famous works of Shakespeare are presented to the audience. It aims to provide a real ‘live’ experience of famous works of Shakespeare so that it is known to the world. It is a family theater where young artists perform to give their best.
Chicago Shakespeare Theatre can be accessed easily by car, Bus service or exclusive daily free trolley that operates during summer months. Every twenty minutes you can catch a trolley. The timings for the trolley are 10 am to 9 pm for Sunday to Thursday while 10 am to 11 pm for Friday and Saturday.
The current famous works by Shakespeare being performed are
Othello from February 3 till April 6, 2008, Romeo and Juliet short version from February 23 till April 5, 2008 and The comedy of errors from April 27 till June 29, 2008.
Audience enrichment programs are also offered by Chicago Shakespeare Theatre. Through these programs Audience is given a chance to take a closer look at the actors and how everything behind the scenes was planned. The programs offered are Pre-Ambles, Pub Cast Call and Talk Backs. An hour an hour lecture is delivered to provide insight during Pre-Ambles program. Audience is a given a chance to interact with actors in a theater Pub during Pub Call Cast while post show questioning session allows audience to ask the cast questions in Talk Backs.
